Le Coupon based at Zurich’s Bellevue offers an enormously large, wide ranging and high quality selection of fabrics for dressmakers and tailors. Precisely, there are over 4000 suberb quality fabrics from around 80 suppliers from Switzerland and Europe, for which Le Coupon has exclusive representatives throughout Switzerland. Here you will find fabrics that are not available elsewhere.

Le Coupon workers adore textiles and because of their great experience they are aware of the huge importance that tailors studios put on the quality of the fabrics. Great emphasis is also placed on sustainable production: all the fabrics are manufactured in Europe. The Le Coupón team knows its suppliers personally and knows where the fabrics are woven and printed.

Only the finest fibers and dyes are used, moreover all fabrics are certified.

Slow fashion concept and hand printing collection from Le Coupon is filled with colorful patterns, floral and geometric shapes. Our individual designs on high quality fabrics are based on the original printing blocks from Wiener Werkstätte. The original patterns have been reinterpreted in order to develop current colors and patterns compositions.

The Wiener Werkstätte

The Wiener Werkstätte GmbH, established in 1903 was a productive association of visual artists.

The aim of the artists community was a renewal of the concept of art in the field of applied arts. They design crockery, jewelry, text and furniture and were so successful at times that sales outlets were set up in New York, Berlin and Zurich.

From 1905 The Wiener Werkstätte also produced hand painted and printed silk fabrics.

A «coupon» is the technical term for a piece of fabric with certain dimensions (300 x 140 cm or 450 cm x 90 cm).
